CMS - a Content Management System

A CMS allows you to update the content on your website pages any time you feel like it, from any PC connected to the net. You can add and remove pages, change the text, add new pics or remove old ones, add tables... pretty much like anything you can do using common text editors like Microsoft Word.

Here's how it works...

First we get together with you and use your existing logos/designs/ideas to draw up a "look" for your site - This is called the template and will include the background, header, menu, footer and all the stuff that needs to appear on every page of your site... The central area on each page is designed for you to edit yourself via the admin section...

Here's an example - this site being built...

The outside area is the template and is the same on all of the pages, the central area (empty here) is used to hold your info and can be edited via the admin section.

Once we have agreed on a design we go away and make all the stuff behind the scenes that make your pages look like that - and build a database to store the info you want on your pages. We also install a protected admin section for you to access with your username and password to update your pages...

After this is all set up you can access the easy editor to add your words and images.

Once you are logged in you are presented with a simple list of pages on your site, like the one on the right...

Here you can choose a page to edit, add new pages or delete old ones.

There's also a handy link to visit your server stats page to check the details about visitors to your site.

If you click on a page to edit it you arrive at the editor page with your current page info showing. Like the one to the left.

Add text, images, tables, shaded boxes etc. Then click the "Enter information" button when you're done and the corresponding page on your website is updated.

There are some nice handy features built in for adding links to other pages or sites - and for uploading images or documents from your PC. For example here is the image window that pops up when you click the image button - allowing you to change images or add new ones. Oh - and thanks to LuMaxArt for some of the gold guys - we've added them to these pages using our CMS

There is also a colourised HTML editor included for those of you who prefer writing your own HTML code.

Once you've entered the bulk of your text and ideas we'll go through the page layouts with you and then give it a final tidy before it goes live to the world.

After it goes live we'll give it a full SEO workover and do all the extra bits and pieces that will help to improve your exposure on the search engines like Google too.

Our CMS Website package also includes the building of a spam proofed contact form for your website customers - so you don't need to expose your email address to the junk mail bots yet still give people an easy way to contact you.

The final result will leave you with a high class, low cost website that you can maintain by yourself without further coding charges!

All you need to get started is:

A hosted domain name (extra licence charge for sites not hosted on our servers)
Some idea of graphical 'look' and colour scheme (examples of sites you like can help too)
A menu structure (which pages you want to start with and where the menu is to be positioned on the page)
A short description of your services and a list of keywords that you think the search engines might like to use to find you.
Photos or graphics that you'd like to include (in digital format please)
Text ideas for your pages
